In My Blood It Runs

Benalla Rural City Council is hosting a free community screening of the documentary In My Blood It Runs to mark National Reconciliation Week 2026.

It’s an opportunity for the community to come together, reflect on our shared histories, and learn more about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.

The evening will include:

6pm:  Light refreshments at the Benalla Visitor Information Centre.
6.30pm:  An Acknowledgement of Country and special introduction from Aunty Cheryl  Cooper at the Benalla Cinema, followed by the film screening.

In My Blood It Runs is a documentary that follows Dujuan, a 10-year-old Arrernte/Garrwa boy, as he navigates the challenges of growing up Aboriginal in Australia. The film explores themes of identity, education, and First Nations cultural survival.
